Cook/Steward(ess)

Salary : EUR 2500 to EUR 3500 Per Month

On some smaller yachts or on yachts that have downsized their crew for the winter you could find a Cook/Stew. The candidate would be required to carryout stewardess duties and also cooking. On a very small yacht this would be for the owner and guests and on a larger yacht this could be cooking just for the crew with assistance on the interior.

Qualifications, training and skills required

  • Restaurant background as a Chef/Cook
  • Not mandatory to have any formal qualifications or training, however any basic training or cooking qualifications would be advantageous
  • Food safety and Hygiene certification
  • Knowledge of food safety & Storage
  • Good knowledge of produce
  • Good understanding of nutrition
  • Awareness of allergies and dietary needs
  • Provisioning
  • Ability to budget
  • An interest in the latest dieting trends
  • Housekeeping, laundry and service experience

Extra desired training

  • Prior on board experience in either the galley or interior
  • Culinary training
  • Stewardess training
  • Powerboat level 2
