A wonderful opportunity has become available for an experienced Housekeeper/Wardrobe Assistant to work for a lovely HNWI in her London home. Supporting an existing housekeeper with all general housekeeping and laundry duties to ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the 6-storey townhouse, the ideal candidate will be meticulous in their ways of working, displaying excellent attention to detail, and exceptionally high standards.
Working together with and reporting to the Personal Assistant, you will be responsible for the meticulous organisation, care, and presentation of an extensive, high-value wardrobe consisting of designer, couture, and exclusive custom pieces. This role demands a deep understanding of luxury fashion and garment care, as well as the ability to catalog and maintain inventory with precision.
Arranging for repairs and alterations, managing dry cleaning, as well as seasonal wardrobe changeovers will all form part of the role, so a deep familiarity of the principal’s wardrobe will be required in order to know where all items are at any given time. Due to the principal travelling frequently, it is essential that you are very experienced in packing and unpacking suitcases and managing luggage inventories.
The ideal candidate will be friendly and observant with a pleasant, calm, proactive nature, as well as being a pet-friendly team player. The principal has two small dogs, so it is of great importance that the successful candidate is happy with dogs in the house, and to assist with pet care when required. Discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate the principal's needs are paramount in supporting a seamless, elevated lifestyle and the smooth running of the home.
A live-out role, working hours will be from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, though a part-time role can also be considered for the ideal candidate. As part of the role, you will be required to cover the live-in housekeeper’s annual leave, which will entail living in for one month of the year, ensuring that the dogs are cared for and all usual housekeeping and wardrobe assistant duties fulfilled.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
· Managing the principal’s extensive wardrobe, cataloging all items and keeping track of the location/storage of all items
· Laundry to include delicates care, ironing and organising dry cleaning
· Care and storage of all items, ensuring all items are well maintained and ready for use
· Packing and unpacking suitcases, managing luggage inventories
· Cleaning including dusting, hoovering, mopping, changing beds, cleaning bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes etc.
· Maintaining stock control of the all bathroom necessities to include beauty products and perfume
· Pet care – walking, feeding and taking care of the dogs when required
· Liaising with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the household
· Providing cover for the live-in housekeeper (one month per year)
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
· Prior Housekeeper/Wardrobe Assistant experience in a private household
· In-depth knowledge and experience of caring for high-value, couture garments
· Excellent knowledge of fine fabrics and delicate garments; wardrobe and shoe management
· Confident in packing and unpacking; managing luggage inventories
· Fluency in English both spoken and written
· Hardworking and dedicated; high attention to detail and observant
