We have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced, kind, trustworthy and loyal Domestic Couple seeking a stable, part-time role with a genuinely lovely family. The family have adult children and spend roughly half the year abroad, so the successful Couple will take full responsibility for ensuring the property remains in excellent condition during their absence and provide hands-on support when they are in residence.
The Couple will ensure the smooth running, cleanliness, and security of the home, and take responsibility for housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management, as well as stocking the fridge and pantry and ensuring household supplies are maintained. The principals often prepare their own meals and enjoy cooking, but the Couple will assist with simple meal preparation, help with food service when the family are entertaining, and handle clearing and resetting afterwards.
Additionally, they will oversee the general upkeep of the property, liaise with contractors and tradespeople as needed, and carry out general maintenance tasks to ensure the home and garden remain well cared for. Set on 1.3 acres, the garden is a mix of formal and wooded areas, so prior experience in a gardening role is required for at least one of the candidates. Local driving such as train station pick-ups, running errands etc. will also form part of the duties, so having a full driving license is essential for this role.
Working 3 days per week, the family value trust and discretion above all and are seeking a Couple who can manage their own time effectively, work independently, and take initiative in maintaining a welcoming and organised household. The ideal Couple will be experienced in private households, discreet, reliable, and have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, as well as being proactive in nature.
The Couple will be provided with a private, recently renovated 1,300 sq. ft. annex, with its own front door and private garden, a spacious kitchen/dining room, two double bedrooms (each with fitted wardrobes), a comfortable living room, and a modern bathroom with bath, separate shower, washbasin, and toilet. The role is to ideally start in May/June 2026, though for the ideal Couple an earlier start date might be possible.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
· Management of all household laundry and ironing, including clothing, linens etc.
· Cleaning of the property including making beds, hoovering, dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms etc.
· Household and grocery shopping; general errand running
· Assisting with food preparation, serving and tidying up when the principals entertain
· The upkeep and cleanliness of windows, exterior patios, walkways and vehicles
· Driving the principals in the local area when required
· Gardening and general maintenance tasks in and around the property
· Liaising with any contractors or service providers as needed
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
· Previous experience in a Couples role supporting a HNW family
· Very high attention to detail and proactive in nature
· Team players with positive, can-do attitudes
· Excellent communication skills
· Good standard of written and spoken English
· Self-motivated, trustworthy, reliable and loyal
· Gardening and maintenance experience
· Full, clean driving license(s)
· Right to work within the UK
· Excellent checkable references
