Summary

HANDS-ON HOUSE MANAGEMENT COUPLE REQUIRED FOR UHNW PROPERTY IN FRANCE

Location: Théoule-sur-Mer, France

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: €5,000-€6,000 per month, joint (negotiable DOE)

Status: Live-in

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated House Manager Couple to oversee the smooth running of a private luxury estate in the South of France. The Couple will be responsible for the daily management and presentation of two villas, ensuring exceptional service and comfort for the principals and their guests. Acting as the main point of contact on-site, coordinating household operations, supervising additional staff, and supporting the family and their guests during their stays, this is a hands-on position that requires flexibility, discretion, and a passion for service excellence.

The Couple will jointly manage the daily operations of the estate, ensuring both villas are presented and maintained to the highest possible standard. They will take responsibility for all aspects of household organisation, including cleaning, laundry, wardrobe management, and maintaining inventories of supplies and equipment.  Overseeing and coordinating the work of household and external staff, liaising with the chef, contractors, and suppliers, they will ensure all maintenance and service requirements are addressed promptly. Additionally, the Couple will manage provisioning and household shopping, ensuring that food, beverages, and other essentials are always well stocked and available.

When the family or guests are in residence, the Couple will deliver and oversee service with warmth and professionalism, which includes setting and serving at table, assisting with entertaining, preparing and serving breakfast or light meals, and maintaining a polished and discreet front-of-house presence. They will also assist with local errands, driving duties, and travel logistics, including airport transfers and guest pick-ups.

The successful Couple will bring proven experience from UHNW private households, luxury villas, or superyachts, demonstrating a refined understanding of five-star service and property care. They should work seamlessly together as a team, able to divide and coordinate responsibilities efficiently. Both must be highly organised, hands-on, self-motivated, and discreet, with a calm and professional demeanour. A flexible, proactive attitude and strong communication skills are essential, and prior supervisory or managerial experience would be highly advantageous.

This is a secondary home that is used by the family predominantly over the summer, though there will also be occasional shorter visits throughout the year. The role requires a Couple that can offer flexibility with working hours, and an understanding of the ebbs and flows of a secondary home – the role will be very busy over the summer, but fairly quiet the rest of the year, so the Couple need to know how to effectively go between busier and quieter times.

A private one-bedroom apartment is provided for the Couple in the village nearby, as well as a vehicle for work-related duties. There is great opportunity for growth in this role with further potential for the Couple to oversee more properties in the collection. Unfortunately, couples with pets or dependents cannot be considered for this role.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Oversee daily operations across both villas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation
  • Supervise, support, and coordinate household and external staff as required

  • Act as the primary contact for principals and guests, ensuring all requests are managed promptly and discreetly
  • Manage household inventories, supplies, and stock levels
  • Provide table service, set up for meals and events, and assist with entertaining, including bar and drinks service
  • Offer concierge-style support — arranging restaurant reservations, activities, and transport
  • Maintain all interior areas to immaculate standards, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal spaces
  • Oversee laundry and linen care, ensuring all fabrics and uniforms are kept pristine
  • Maintain fresh flowers, fruit displays, and the general aesthetic presentation of the villas
  • Conduct daily checks to ensure all systems, amenities, and guest areas are functioning perfectly
  • Oversee local errands, shopping, and provisioning for household and guest requirements
  • Monitor and report maintenance issues, ensuring prompt resolution
  • Maintain inventories of equipment, supplies, and linen
  • Manage property security and ensure readiness before, during, and after family stays
  • Handle arrivals, departures, and airport or local transfers as required

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Previous experience in a Couples role in a HNW private household or superyacht
  • Very high attention to detail and exacting standards
  • Excellent housekeeping, laundry, and service skills
  • Ability to prepare light breakfasts and lunches when required
  • Personable with strong guest-facing skills & bartending skills
  • Tech-savvy and able to manage modern entertainment, alarm, and CCTV systems
  • Team players with flexible, can-do attitudes
  • Excellent communication and management skills
  • Good standard of written and spoken English
  • Able to prioritise and multitask effectively
  • Discreet, reliable, and trustworthy
  • Full, clean driving license(s)
  • Right to live and work in France
  • Excellent checkable references
