The Candidate Specification
We are seeking an experienced Deckhand to join this dynamic crew. This role is ideally suited to someone with strong fishing knowledge who is confident engaging directly with the owners, particularly around all aspects of fishing operations.
This is a truly exciting yacht to work on, offering exceptional remote cruising, an outstanding itinerary, and a forward-looking programme with some incredible plans ahead. The vessel is run by a close-knit, hardworking, and ego-free crew where everyone pulls together - even the Captain is hands-on on deck. The team's efforts have recently been recognised with a crew-wide bonus, which speaks volumes about both the ownership and the onboard culture. These are genuinely generous owners and a fantastic team to be part of.
The position involves regular offshore fishing and trawling, with morning and evening fishing off the yacht and from a fully equipped RIB. The owner is extremely passionate about fishing.
You will support general deck duties and work closely with the deck team, maintaining the yacht's high standards. The ideal candidate will be neat, organised, well-presented, and approachable, with a positive attitude and the ability to hold a good conversation with guests and crew alike.
The yacht's owners are highly respected within the industry and place a strong emphasis on creating a positive, collaborative, and professional atmosphere onboard - making this an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate with both technical fishing skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
