Lead Deckhand – 60m+ Private Motor Yacht
Please do not apply unless you hold a Yachtmaster Certificate (in hand, no exceptions) and have a minimum of three full seasons’ experience on yachts over 55m.
We are seeking a confident, professional Lead Deckhand to join a high-standard, professionally run 60m+ private motor yacht with a strong family focus. The vessel operates to exceptional standards and offers a structured, supportive deck department with a collaborative bridge–deck dynamic.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced deckhand ready to step into a leadership role, working closely with the Bosun and Officers to uphold deck operations, safety, and guest experience at the highest level.
You will take a lead role within the deck team, setting standards, mentoring junior crew, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintenance, and guest activities. The program is family-oriented, with a strong emphasis on seamanship, safety, and positive guest interaction, particularly with children of all ages.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Yachtmaster Certificate in hand (mandatory, no exceptions)
- All relevant certificates up to date
- Minimum of 3 full seasons’ experience on yachts 55m+
- Proven longevity and solid references
- Confident leader, comfortable guiding and motivating the deck team
- Strong tender driving and watersports background
- Excellent guest interaction skills; calm, professional, and safety-focused
- Comfortable working closely with Officers and contributing to bridge–deck communication
