EXCITING ASSISTANT CHEF OPPORTUNITY AT AN UHNW NORTH LONDON HOUSEHOLD

We have an exciting opportunity available for an Assistant Chef to join a fully staffed ultra-high-net-worth private household in North London, working closely alongside the principals’ full-time Private Chef. This is a hands-on, collaborative role suited to a confident and organised individual who enjoys supporting kitchen operations in a private household setting and takes pride in delivering high standards of service and presentation.
The Assistant Chef will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, assisting with food preparation, plating, and service, as well as maintaining exceptional levels of cleanliness and organisation. Responsibilities will also include managing kitchen stock, checking expiry dates, ordering supplies, liaising with suppliers, and researching new recipes to support menu planning. Every second Saturday, the Assistant Chef will be responsible for preparing lunch for the Principal independently.
The household caters to specific dietary requirements, including wheat-free, lactose-free, and gluten-free diets, so it is essential that candidates are confident cooking to dietary specifications and comfortable adapting recipes accordingly. While formal chef qualifications are not required, applicants must have prior experience working as a Cook or Assistant Chef within a high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth private household environments.
Working hours will be Monday to Friday from 12pm-8pm, and every second Saturday from 10:30am-3:30pm. The role can be offered on either a live-in or live-out basis. For live-in candidates, accommodation is provided in a separate staff flat on the property. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a professional, well-structured household, supporting a talented Private Chef in a long-term, stable role.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Assisting the Private Chef with daily food preparation and kitchen operations
- Supporting with plating and food service
- Preparing lunch for the Principal every second Saturday
- Catering confidently to dietary requirements (wheat-free, lactose-free, gluten-free)
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene standards
- Monitoring stock levels, checking expiry dates, and ordering supplies
- Liaising with suppliers and managing deliveries
- Researching recipes and contributing to menu ideas
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Previous experience as a Cook or Assistant Chef within a HNW/UHNW private households
- Confident cooking to dietary requirements and restrictions
- Well-organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Professional, discreet, and reliable
- Able to work collaboratively while also using initiative
- Flexible and happy to support weekend cover on a rotational basis
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Excellent, checkable references
