An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Maintenance Engineer to join the household team of a substantial ultra-high-net-worth private residence in Belgravia. This is a key position within the property, working closely as the right-hand support to the Facilities Manager and playing an integral role in the smooth day-to-day operation of a technically advanced home.
The property is fitted with extensive smart home systems and luxury amenities, including a private cinema, spa facilities with steam room and hammam, and multiple gas fireplaces, requiring a highly detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused individual. This role would suit a technically strong candidate with experience in luxury residential, five-star hotel, or yacht environments, who takes pride in maintaining flawless standards and anticipating issues before they arise.
A live-out role, the working hours are from 8am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday, though flexibility will be required to work occasional weekends when the principals are in residence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and plumbing systems, with gas training considered a distinct advantage.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Deliver hands-on, day-to-day maintenance across all areas of the residence, ensuring the property is maintained to exceptional standards at all times
- Carry out electrical and plumbing fault-finding, repairs, and minor installations, with a strong understanding of integrated building systems
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, lighting, heating, water, and AV-related systems, including smart home technology
- Support the upkeep of specialist areas such as the private cinema, spa facilities, steam room, hammam, and gas fireplaces
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance checks to identify and resolve issues proactively
- Work closely with the Facilities Manager to prioritise tasks, plan works, and implement effective maintenance solutions
- Liaise confidently with external contractors and specialists, supervising works and ensuring quality, safety, and discretion
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and compliance documentation
- Respond promptly and efficiently to ad-hoc requests, particularly during periods when the principals are in residence
- Provide flexible support outside core hours and occasional weekends as required
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance role within a large private residence, 5-star hotel, or superyacht environment
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems; gas qualifications highly advantageous
- Highly proactive with exceptional attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
- Professional, discreet, and trustworthy, with an understanding of UHNW privacy and service expectations
- Comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with senior household staff
- Organised, methodical, and capable of managing multiple tasks within a complex property
- Flexible, adaptable, and calm under pressure
- Fluent English speaker with the right to live and work in the UK
