Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bosun to join our dynamic team and ensure the smooth operation and safety of our vessel’s exterior. As a key player in our crew, you will collaborate closely with the 2nd and Chief Officers. Your responsibilities will encompass quality control, optimal equipment storage and management, and strict adherence to deck and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Exterior set up and Maintenance.
- Optimise storage arrangements for all operational equipment and products.
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
- Inspecting work areas, ensuring they are maintained to the highest of standards.
- Supporting the officers, contributing your skills and expertise to foster a cohesive and efficient team.
- Promote a positive safety culture onboard.
- Instruct, guide, and train the deck team in daily tasks and maintenance.
- Ensure the exterior of the vessel is maintained and kept clean following the correct protocols.
Skills & Qualifications
- STCW Basic certification
- Yacht Master 200GT.
- Efficient Deck Hand
- Proficiency in survival craft, rescue boats, and fast rescue boats
- Security-awareness certification
- Navigational Watch Rating certification
· Preferred Additional Certification:
- Advanced firefighting
- Medical First Aid
- Crowd management.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of yachting experience, including previous Bosun experience.
- Strong maintenance skills and product knowledge.
- Extensive refit experience.
- Working knowledge of yacht paint systems.
- Clear understanding of daily deck department operations.
- Tender driving experience (both jet and stern drive).
- Experience with crane and lifting operations.
- Positive work ethic and attitude, with a safety-conscious approach.
- Ability to manage tasks and delegate responsibilities to the deck team.
