Summary
75m+ private motor yacht are looking for an experienced and qualified 2nd Engineer to join at the beginning of January.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background within the commercial and yachting industry. The applicant should possess excellent communication skills to effectively co-ordinate with all departments on board. As part of a team of 3, including an ETO, the second engineer is responsible to the Chief Engineer for watchkeeping, planned and unplanned maintenance and repair of systems throughout the vessel.
A commercial engineering background is welcome although at least 1 year’s continual service in the yachting industry, preferably on a similar sized vessel, is important.
Requirements:
- Minimum Y2 ticket or 2nd Engineer unlimited required.
- Proven experience in yachting with a commercial background is sought.
- Excellent knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with classification societies, flag states, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Good IT skills with general knowledge of MS Office
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Fully valid certification
