The Candidate Specification
We are currently seeking a Crew Chef to join a 75m+ private motor yacht starting Mid-April. The yacht is based in Monaco and cruises primarily throughout the Mediterranean. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-run vessel with a professional, supportive crew and a positive, team-focused environment on board.
This role will primarily focus on preparing daily meals for the crew, catering for approximately 21 crew members on board. The yacht also has a Head Chef, who typically travels with the owners between their various villas and residences, so the Crew Chef will largely be responsible for the crew galley. From time to time, when the Head Chef is not on board, you may be asked to assist with very simple owner snacks or light dishes, so being comfortable stepping in when required is important
We are looking for a chef who enjoys creating healthy, balanced meals, as the owner and many of the crew are very fitness-oriented. An interest in nutrition, fresh ingredients, and wholesome cooking would be highly valued, as the crew appreciate meals that support an active lifestyle.
The role will also involve managing your own provisioning and working within a set galley budget. Experience with basic accounting or budget management would be beneficial, although not essential, as the provisioning software used on board is straightforward and easy to learn.
It would be a big advantage if the candidate enjoys baking, particularly sourdough bread, which is something both the crew and owners greatly appreciate. Someone who enjoys bringing a bit of creativity to the crew galley while maintaining consistency and good organisation would thrive in this position.
The yacht typically spends the winter season based in Palma, although there is a strong possibility the vessel will enter a shipyard period this year.
- Required Experience: Crew Chef Experience
