The Candidate Specification
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Deckhand to join a dynamic 85m+ private/charter yacht with a strong watersports focus. When the owner and guests are onboard, the program is heavily centered around kitesurfing and other water-based activities, so a background in watersports is highly desirable. Alternatively, candidates with a trade background (carpentry, engineering, mechanical, etc.) who bring the right attitude and willingness to learn will also be strongly considered.
The yacht will be entering a European shipyard period for approximately 5-6 months, offering valuable hands-on experience. The vessel is expected to be on standby in West Palm Beach from March/April, therefore a valid B1/B2 visa is essential.
The program runs an average of 3-4 light charters per year and offers a training allowance to support crew development. We are looking for someone sociable and positive who will thrive in a great onboard atmosphere with an established, close-knit crew. Ideally, candidates will be well-rounded across a range of watersports; however, this is also an excellent opportunity for someone with little to no yachting experience who is eager to grow within the industry.
