Summary
Incredible 65m+ Sailing Yacht seeking a fantastic female Head Chef to rotate with the amazing current one onboard. She is sincere, laid back and a brilliant Chef, so someone who fits that similar profile is what's required. This yacht is world travelling with a lovely crew and great owners. The yacht does a few selective charters per year, at which point a Sous chef is brought on. Otherwise it's a Sole Chef position.
The successful candidate will boast a wide repertoire of cuisine and be well able to impress the owners and guests, whilst also keeping the crew well fed with healthy and delicious options. There is no space onboard for big egos, as this is a happy and dynamic team who work well together in a very positive atmosphere. The owners (and crew) tend to be healthy eaters, and the food served is always something that makes their trips extra special. They love great presentation, so this will give a talented chef the chance to show off her creative flair. Charter experience is a must, and longevity (in a Head Chef position) is essential. Gluten-free experience would be a plus. Formal culinary training expected. This is a role for someone who is very happy to be guest facing and interactive regarding menus, etc. A good communicator with a genuine love for her job.
Must have:
- Previous Yachting experience and relevant land based restaurant and catering experience
- Phenomenal references - YES, we WILL check and double check!!
- Excellent time-management
- Be a hard-worker
- Have great hygiene
- Have well-rounded skills
- Be a respectful as a crew member, of normal sober habits
- Have a good sense of humour
- Have the ability to keep good accounts
- Be capable of provisioning for stores and produce
- Have no visible tattoos
- True non-smokers only
Handover will be completed during a week long guest trip, with the new recruit shadowing the current Head Chef, in a Sous Chef role.
