·      Package: Salary: $7,000-7,500 USD (DOE)

·      2:2 Rotation

·      Single Cabin

Looking for a motivated and energetic Chief Officer on a 65m+ private expedition style yacht. Active cruising schedule planned along the Southern African coast and Indian Ocean islands, including a shipyard period during the next 8 months. 

Explorer-style yacht, originally launched in 1980's. This is not a ‘white’ boat in the traditional sense, so don’t expect shiny stainless surfaces. Operational readiness and functionality are the main objectives here. Big knuckle crane, heli-ops, and functional tenders for open-ocean operations.

The Ideal Candidate

·      Male or Female

·      Fit and active

·      Long term position with growth opportunity. We are not looking for a seasonal Chief Officer

·      2 Busy years of experience in a similar role

·      Could suit someone with solid 2^nd Officer experience looking to move up

·      Non USA due to insurance requirements

·      Non-South African crew preferred

Requirements

·      Minimum CoC - Chief Mate 3000

·      Valid STCW and ENG1

·      Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) strongly preferred

·      Big crane experience a plus

·      Interest in fishing a bonus

·      Proven longevity essential (i.e. Not a seasonal boat hopper)

About the Programme

This is a dynamic and adventurous operation with a multi-national crew, regularly visiting off the beaten track locations. Strong focus on crew longevity and welfare.

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• Drivers License
• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)

Master/Skipper Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• MCA CoC Officer of the Watch <3000gt
• MCA CoC Chief Mate <3000gt
