Programme:

Private yacht, expedition style cruising with a multinational crew, exploring off-the-beaten-track locations throughout the Southern African region and Indian Ocean. The vessel is based out of Cape Town, with a fishing, diving, and research element to the programme. Renewal surveys and minor refit planned for mid-2026 (shipyard TBC).

Vessel:

Explorer-style yacht, originally launched in 1980's. This is not a ‘white’ boat in the traditional sense, so don’t expect shiny stainless surfaces in the ER. Operational readiness and functionality are the main objectives here.  Big knuckle crane, Heli-ops, and functional tenders for open-ocean operations. Propulsion: 2x CAT 820kW, with John Deere Generators.  

Well-established vessel owner.

Good budget for maintenance, safety, and crew welfare.

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)
• Drivers License

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• RIII/2 Y2 Chief Engineer (<3000gt <3000kW)/ Chief Engineer (SV) (<3000gt <9000kW)
• RIII/2 Y1 Chief Engineer (<3000gt <9000kW)/ Chief Engineer (SV) (<3000gt <9000kW)
