Summary
Magnitude Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Deckhand to join the build team of a 50m+ sailing yacht currently under construction in Italy. Working directly under the 1st Officer, this role supports all aspects of deck operations with a strong emphasis on sailing, watersports, and guest experience.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a project from the build phase and develop into a long-term operational role post-delivery. The ideal candidate will be energetic, eager to learn, and passionate about watersports, seamanship, and the sailing yacht lifestyle.

Key Requirements
- Previous experience as a Deckhand on large sailing or motor yachts
- Powerboat Level 2 licence
- PWC (Jet Ski) Instructor or Operator licence
- Diving certification (minimum Open Water Diver)
- Strong watersports skills and enthusiasm (e.g. wakeboarding, kiteboarding, diving, SUP, etc.)
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
New Build Responsibilities
- Support daily shipyard supervision under the 1st Officer, with a focus on deck outfitting and preparation
- Assist with inventory management and organisation of deck equipment and watersports gear
- Participate in setup, testing, and commissioning of deck and watersports equipment
- Maintain high standards of care, organisation, and attention to detail in preparation for launch
Operational Role
- Remain fully hands-on across deck operations including sail handling, mooring, anchoring, and maintenance
- Lead and assist with delivering exceptional guest watersports experiences, ensuring safety at all times
- Operate tenders and PWCs safely and professionally
- Assist with diving operations and support guest diving activities where certified
- Engage in onboard training and continuous development, including sail handling, navigation basics, and maintenance skills
