Junior ETA/ Assistant ETO

Salary : EUR 2500 to EUR 3800 Per Month

A Junior Electro-Technical Assistant (ETA) or Assistant ETO role is the ideal entry point for aspiring marine electronics professionals. Working under the supervision of a Senior or Chief ETO, this role involves assisting with the maintenance and operation of a yacht’s electrical, AV, and IT systems. It’s a hands-on position that offers rapid learning across a broad range of yacht systems and disciplines.

Responsibilities typically include routine maintenance, cable runs, software updates, AV system resets, and basic fault finding. Over time, Junior ETAs can gain exposure to high-voltage systems, bridge electronics, and satellite communications. This position is a stepping stone to a long-term ETO career and is ideal for those with a solid electrical foundation and a desire to grow.

Qualifications, training and skills required

  • Marine Electronics Certificate or Electrical Apprenticeship
  • STCW Basic Safety Training
  • ENG1 Medical Certificate
  • Familiarity with yacht AV/IT systems
  • Willingness to learn in high-pressure, high-standard environments
