Burgess Recruitment is looking for an Engineer / 1st Mate for a 38m Private Motor Yacht
Start Date:
February 15th
Salary:
USD 120,000 – 140,000 p.a. (DOE)
Leave:
3 weeks paid leave per year

Qualifications:
- STCW & ENG1 preferred (flexible)
- Vessel is not classed – formal engineering tickets not required
- Strong practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and IT systems
Requirements:
- US Citizen or legally eligible to work in the US (US-flagged vessel)
- Hands-on engineering experience on yachts or similar vessels
- Strong watchkeeping experience
- Confident tender driver (37’ tender)
- Good line handling skills
- Willingness to assist both interior and exterior departments as required
- Proactive, solution-oriented and team-focused attitude
Other:
- 38m (125’) private motor yacht – Northcoast
- Owner-only usage with a relatively light program (approx. 7–10 trips per year, 5–7 days each)
- Summers spent in the Northeast USA, winters in the Caribbean (Bahamas / BVI’s)
- Tight-knit and well-run crew of 6
