Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated, down-to-earth Captain to take command of a 30m motor yacht operating on a dual-season charter program. This role is well suited to a modern-thinking Captain or a strong senior officer ready for their first command, who is hands-on, proactive, and focused on getting the job done properly without ego or drama.
The successful candidate will be an all-rounder with strong operational awareness, able to anticipate issues before they arise and communicate clearly and constructively when they do.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall command and safe operation of the yacht
- Navigation, ship handling, passage planning, and watchkeeping
- Oversight of charter operations and guest experience
- Crew leadership, management, and daily coordination
- Compliance with safety, operational, and charter standards
- Proactive identification of maintenance, operational, or crew-related issues
- Liaison with management, agents, and external service providers
Required Qualifications
- Yachtmaster Ocean (commercially endorsed)
- GMDSS
- PWC Instructor
- Valid STCW & ENG1
- Ship-handling experience required
- ISM / SMS training or exposure beneficial
- Master 200GT advantageous but not essential
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Typically 25–35 years old
- Well-presented, professional, and guest-facing
- Calm, assertive, and confident without arrogance
- Positive attitude, solution-focused, and not prone to complaining
- Comfortable in a hands-on role and happy to lead by example
- Captaincy experience beneficial but not mandatory
- Senior officers stepping into their first command are encouraged to apply
