HEAD HOUSEKEEPER REQUIRED FOR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY HOME

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and professional Head Housekeeper to join a prestigious private household in Central London. The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with a strong service ethos, excellent organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role would suit someone who thrives in a structured environment and takes pride in creating a beautifully maintained home.
Working at the heart of the household, you will oversee the smooth running of all housekeeping operations, managing two other housekeepers and ensuring the highest standards are consistently achieved across the property. Alongside your team, you will take a hands-on approach to cleaning, laundry, and wardrobe management, as well as managing inventories, ordering supplies, and coordinating with external contractors. The family are seeking a candidate who is discreet, proactive, and confident in leading by example.
This is a full-time live-out position, working Monday to Friday, approximately 45–50 hours per week, with two consecutive days off. Flexibility to assist on occasional weekends when the family is in residence is required. Candidates should be based within a commutable distance to Central London and have previous experience managing staff within a high-level private household.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
· Overseeing and managing the day-to-day housekeeping operations of the residence
· Supervising, training, and supporting two housekeepers, ensuring standards are upheld
· Hands-on cleaning and organisation of all areas to a five-star level
· Full laundry and wardrobe management, including care of fine garments and linens
· Maintaining household inventories and ordering cleaning products and toiletries
· Managing household schedules and ensuring smooth daily operations
· Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and other household staff
· Implementing deep cleaning routines and seasonal organisation
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
· Proven experience as a Head Housekeeper managing a team in a private household
· Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
· Exceptional housekeeping and laundry expertise with meticulous attention to detail
· Proactive, trustworthy, and able to take initiative
· Discreet, polished, and professional approach
· Ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and efficiently
· Eligibility to work in the UK
· Excellent, verifiable references
