A lovely, down-to-earth family of four based in Loughton is seeking an experienced and passionate Private Chef to join their household on a permanent basis. This is a wonderful opportunity for a creative and organised chef who is looking for a long-term position within a welcoming and supportive environment.

 

The family follows a vegetarian and pescatarian diet, so the ideal candidate will have proven experience preparing balanced, healthy meals within these dietary preferences. They are looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about food, enjoys experimenting with flavours, and takes pride in preparing everything from scratch using fresh, high-quality ingredients.

 

Daily responsibilities will include preparing lunch for the principals, which is also sometimes required to be taken to their office, and dinner for the entire family, with a focus on nutritious, flavourful, and beautifully presented dishes. In addition, the family would love the chef to pre-prepare simple breakfast items for the next day, such as fresh granola. The role will also involve menu planning, sourcing ingredients, and managing all kitchen-related organisation and cleanliness.

 

The kitchen is fully equipped, and the family are looking for a chef who can make the most of the space, bring inspiration to their daily meals, and maintain a calm and professional presence within the household. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

 

DUTIES TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

•     Preparing daily lunch and dinner for the family, ensuring meals are healthy, well-balanced, and flavourful

•     Creating varied and seasonal menus in line with the family’s vegetarian and pescatarian diet

•     Cooking all meals from scratch using fresh, locally sourced ingredients

•     Sourcing, ordering, and managing all food supplies and kitchen stock

•     Maintaining the kitchen to an immaculate standard at all times

•     Clearing and cleaning after meal preparation and service

•     Liaising with the family regarding preferences, menus, and dietary needs

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

•     10 years of experience as a Private Chef within a family environment

•     Strong knowledge of vegetarian and pescatarian cooking

•     Genuine passion for food, flavour, and presentation

•     Organised, proactive, and able to work independently

•     Focused on nutrition, freshness, and variety

•     Professional, reliable, and discreet

•     High standards of hygiene and kitchen management

•     Valid UK driving licence and your own vehicle

•     Excellent checkable references

•     Eligibility to work in the UK
