Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a highly reputable and professionally run Private/Light Charter 70m MY.


Our ideal candidate is culinary trained with ideally a few years' experience as a sous chef on a MY however we would consider candidates coming from a strong restaurant background. We are looking for an individual who loves to cook fresh, healthy, homely and a good mix of homemade food.


Our sous chef is primarily responsible for cooking crew food for 20 crewmembers and assisting the Head Chefs when required in preparing guest food.


Good accounting and administrative skills are beneficial; provisioning is done together with the HC altering using agents or sourcing local produce.


Our ideal candidate is adaptable and skilled in a variety of cuisines, capable of creating exciting, fresh menus for the crew.


Many of the crew onboard have worked for the owner for a long time, so crew retention is HIGH.


The owning family is adventurous and enjoys interacting with the crew, making this an exciting role for someone who is sociable and professional. This vessel has a strong diving program, so if you are a keen diver, which is a bonus. The owners happily take a crewmember with on his dives or just for a swim. The owning family is also heavily involved in charity work, such as building schools and assisting the local community.


The ideal candidate is an experienced chef who is passionate about their craft, thrives in an adventurous setting, and enjoys being part of a professional yet relaxed team. We value individuals who are down-to-earth, friendly, and caring, with a great sense of humour and good banter with an easy-going personality.


The yacht fosters a strong teamwork mentality, and everyone chips in to help where they can to maintain a supportive and professional atmosphere. The captains prioritize crew well-being and mental health while maintaining a fun and collaborative working environment.

Required Documents/Certificates: STCW, ENG1, PDSD, Ships cook certificate.


Requirements for application: 2 years' experience working as a chef on a MY or extensive experience working as a chef in a restaurant, professionally trained, great communications skills, longevity, and verifiable references.


Salary: DOE

Shared Cabin Non-offensive Tattoos are ok.

No smokers

Good crew gym set-up onboard

Dry boat, fit, and healthy crew.

Diving enthusiast is a bonus.
