2nd Engineer in Italy

Summary

Hill Maritime Group (HMG) is seeking an experienced EOOW Level 2 Second Engineer to join a 55m charter motor yacht operating a busy Mediterranean season. The departing 2nd was placed on this Yacht by HMG two years ago.

Position Details

• Role: EOOW Unlimited – 2nd Engineer

• Employment Type: Permanent

• Leave: 44 days annual leave

• Salary: 5,500 Euro per month + shared charter tips

• Accommodation: Shared cabin

• Program: Single-season, Mediterranean-based charter (fully booked summer schedule)

The Vessel

This is a well-established charter yacht with an active guest program. The vessel is showing its age, so this role requires a proactive, hands-on engineer comfortable working across a broad range of mechanical and electrical systems.

Candidate Requirements

• EOOW Unlimited certification

• Minimum 2 years prior yacht experience

• Schengen visa (required)

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience

• Hands-on approach with good practical problem-solving skills

• Previous commercial background is advantageous

• Professional, guest-friendly attitude with charter experience preferred

• Good, verifiable references

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)

Engineering Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• RIII/1 Engineer Officer of the Watch (Unlimited)
