Summary
Position: Deckhand
Yacht: 62m Private Motor Yacht
Start Date: ASAP
Location / Itinerary:
• Winter: Caribbean / Bahamas
• Summer: Mediterranean (plans TBC)
Job ID: 1646379
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Deckhand to join a well-run 62m private motor yacht. The vessel is privately owned and used exclusively by a family (typically 6–8 guests). The onboard atmosphere is professional, calm, and family-oriented, with a strong emphasis on routine operations and teamwork.
This role is best suited to someone who values stability, structure, and a quieter yachting program, rather than fast-paced charter operations or adventure-driven itineraries.
Program & Expectations (Important)
This is not a high-activity or adventure-focused yacht. The owner follows very set routines and uses the vessel primarily as a family platform, not for charter.
• Activities are generally limited to light watersports (spearfishing, paddleboarding)
• The yacht often remains on standby
• Travel and itinerary changes are minimal
• Candidates seeking constant movement, excitement, or off-the-beaten-path cruising may find the program too quiet
We are therefore looking for someone comfortable with routine operations, maintenance-focused deck work, and a family-boat environment.
Ideal Candidate
• Male (due to cabin arrangements)
• 1–2 seasons of yachting experience preferred
• Yachtmaster 200GT required
• Interest in diving or spearfishing is a plus
• Comfortable with a steady, low-intensity program
Requirements
- STCW (and refresher if applicable)
- Valid ENG1 (minimum 6 months validity)
- VISA B1/B2 is mandatory
- YM 200
Salary & Package
• €3,000 – €3,300 per month, depending on experience and qualifications
• 70 days leave per year
• 2 return flights per annum
• €1,250 annual training budget
