The Candidate Specification
This is a short-term opportunity on a yacht currently listed for sale, with attendance planned at the Palma Yacht Show. The yacht is based in Barcelona, and the preferred start date is at the beginning of February to allow for a full handover period, as the current Captain will be leaving on 10th March.
The role would suit someone available to step into a transitional position, ideally to cover a gap rather than leave a permanent role. The duration of employment is uncertain and dependent on the sale of the yacht. There is a possibility of a Mediterranean season, although this remains unclear at this stage. Should the yacht not sell, the season is expected to begin at the end of May.
The owners are described as lovely and the program is well run. The yacht has a double cabin, so couples are welcome to apply, particularly a Captain and Chief Stewardess pairing. The position offers 42 days of leave, accrued on a pro-rata basis.
This is a great opportunity for someone flexible, realistic about the nature of a yacht-for-sale program, and looking for a short-term or interim role with potential upside depending on how the sale progresses.
