Summary
A highly competent and motivated Lead Deckhand is sought for a prestigious 100m+ motor yacht currently in Europe with plans to cruise the Mediterranean this summer. This position suits an experienced AB / Yachtmaster Offshore / Navigational Watch Rating holder ready to step into a leadership role, supporting the Bosun in supervising, organising, and developing the deck team.The successful candidate will have 5+ years’ experience on vessels 70m+, with a strong all-round deck skillset and the confidence to lead by example. Duties include overseeing daily deck operations, maintenance planning and execution, watchkeeping where applicable, and assisting the Bosun in maintaining the vessel’s high operational and presentation standards.Experience with diving operations, heli-ops, working at height (WAH), watersports, tender handling, and large-vessel deck maintenance will be a strong advantage. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, a proactive leadership style, strong work ethic, and the ability to perform in a structured, fast-paced, high-end yachting environment.
This role starts at the end of April 2026 or possibly sooner, but scope for candidates needing to serve notice is available.

- Navigational Watchkeeping A-II/4 or Yacht Master Offshore CoC
- Valid Seaman's Book
- Valid Passport
- Valid Basic Training A-VI/1 to 1-4
- Valid ENG 1 Medical without restrictions
- Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD)
- Leadership experience in yachting is a reqreuiment
- Significant Deck experience with longevity on a vessel greater than 70m is key
- HDA, HLO certificates are required but time is available to secure before embarkation if not in hand
- Working at Height Certificate (WAH) is required, but time is available to secure before embarkation if not in hand
- Crowd Management certificate a must (you will need to complete this online if you don't have the certificate to be considered)
- PWC Instructor and Dive Master/Instructor certificates would be welcomed
- Tender driving experience and skills is mandatory
- Proven and verifiable deck maintenance skill is mandatory
- Any and all additional certificates welcomed and will give you an advantage
- No visible tattoos, Non-smoker
- Must we willing to take a drug and alcohol test
- Must provide valid written references
- Military background will need to be considered
- Candidates need to join the vessel in Europe so a Schengen Visa or valid exempt passport is required. Candidates without a visa will need to have a strong CV.
