Summary
An experienced and qualified rotational Carpenter is required for a 100m+ motor yacht currently based in Europe, with planned cruising throughout the Mediterranean and Atlantic. The ideal candidate will have solid deck experience and preferably hold a Yachtmaster Offshore, EDH, Navigational Watch Rating, and/or higher certification, with all documentation and endorsements valid and current. Reporting to the Bosun, the successful applicant must be a strong team player, capable of operating to the highest deck standards and procedures, while also managing the carpentry department in conjunction with their rotational partner. A formal carpentry qualification would be highly regarded; however, candidates will be assessed on overall merit and large-yacht experience. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a proven track record onboard large yachts or cruise vessels, supported by strong references. Shipyard carpenters with extensive new-build or refit experience will also be considered.
This is a rotational position: 2:2 months on/off, paid 12 months. The joining date is the first week in March 2026
Job Specification
- Valid STCW '10 Certificates
- Valid ENG1 Medical with no restrictions
- Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD)
- Preferably 2+ years in similar role and rank experience
- EDH / Yacht Master Offshore / Nav Watch Rating or higher certificate required
- A qualification in Carpentry would be very well received
- Excellent set of cleaning, painting, varnishing, maintenance skills
- Good health and good sobriety
- Must speak fluent English
- Must have good written references and contact details must be provided
- Preferably vaccinated for COVID-19
- No visible tattoos
