The Candidate Specification
We are seeking a Chief Stewardess to join an 85m+ private yacht operating within the Mediterranean, with a mid-February start date. The vessel is currently in a yard period and runs a quiet, well-structured private programme, offering a stable and professional onboard environment. Spain is the yacht’s home port, and the position is open to male or female candidates.
The Chief Stewardess will manage a permanent interior team of seven, increasing to ten crew during the summer months, and will be provided with a single cabin. The role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the yacht’s interior operations, including guest services, housekeeping standards, inventory management, and crew training. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional guest service at all times, ensuring that all guest requests and preferences are met efficiently, while maintaining immaculate presentation throughout the interior.
In addition to traditional Chief Stew duties, this position incorporates a Purser-style role, as there is no dedicated Purser onboard. Responsibilities will include travel and logistics arrangements, procurement, account and budget management, administrative reporting, and budget projections. The Chief Stewardess will also oversee interior provisioning, ensuring all supplies are ordered, stocked, and accurately accounted for, while working confidently across platforms such as Voly, IDEA, PinPoint, and Microsoft Office.
The Chief Stewardess will lead, supervise, and motivate the interior team, providing clear guidance, training, and support to ensure all duties are carried out to the highest standards. Close collaboration with other department heads is essential to ensure smooth yacht operations and seamless guest experiences. A strong focus on safety, security, and regulatory compliance is required at all times to protect the wellbeing of guests, crew, and the vessel.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Chief Stewardess on yachts, with excellent knowledge of interior operations and a strong understanding of service, housekeeping, and team management. A professional attitude, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work calmly under pressure are essential. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and confident communication and interpersonal skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for a structured, motivated Chief Stewardess seeking a calm programme with significant operational responsibility and the chance to further develop Purser-level experience within a professional Mediterranean-based yacht.
- Required experience: Chief Stew experience
