Summary
Magnitude Recruitment is seeking an experienced Temporary Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) to support a 100m+ private motor yacht during a scheduled one-month refit period commencing in March. This role is shipyard-based and focused on providing specialist electrical and electronic support alongside the Chief ETO and Technical Team.
The successful candidate will be technically strong, proactive, and able to integrate quickly into an established engineering team, ensuring electrical systems, AV, navigation, and automation elements are supported efficiently throughout the refit period.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience as an ETO on large yachts or commercial vessels
- Strong knowledge of yacht electrical systems, automation, and AV integration
- Ability to work effectively within a shipyard refit environment
- Valid STCW certification and ENG1 (or equivalent)
- ETO COC
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
Refit & Technical Responsibilities
- Support the Chief Engineer with electrical and electronic aspects of the refit
- Liaise with shipyard teams, contractors, and manufacturers
- Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
- Support navigation, communication, AV, and IT systems where required
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and assist with system diagnostics
- Maintain documentation and records related to electrical works
