Summary
A private 53ft US FLAGGED S/Y is seeking an experienced Captain for a seasonal position, responsible for relocating the vessel from New Orleans in May to New England for the Summer season.
This role offers the potential for occasional light charters but will primarily focus on owner usage. The ideal candidate must have at a 100-ton USCG license, extensive sailboat experience, and strong mechanical skills, as this will be a sole position.
Usage: Primarily private use with potential for light charters
Compensation: Competitive salary, DOE
Requirements: USCG 100-ton license (required), no Yachtmaster Licenses accepted at this time.
Experience: Proven experience as a sailboat captain with strong navigational and seamanship skills
Mechanical Skills: Must be mechanically inclined and capable of handling routine maintenance and troubleshooting independently
Attributes: Self-sufficient, resourceful, and capable of managing all aspects of vessel operations solo
Responsibilities: Safely navigate the vessel from New Orleans to New England, planning and executing the voyage efficiently Oversee all aspects of vessel maintenance and operations, ensuring systems are functioning optimally.
Provide a high level of service and communication to the owner, accommodating their needs while aboard.
Assist with light charter operations if required Manage provisioning, voyage planning, and overall upkeep of the vessel.
