Summary
A well-maintained private 30m sailing yacht is seeking an experienced Mate / Engineer to join for the 2026 Mediterranean season.
The yacht is owned by lovely British owners and has a relaxed, professional onboard atmosphere with a close-knit crew. Cruising areas include Sardinia, Amalfi Coast, and the Western Mediterranean
The crew consists of a Captain, Mate, Deckhand and Chef/Stew
The Role
This is a hands-on Mate position with a strong focus on deck operations and sailing.
The Captain is looking for someone reliable and proactive, who takes pride in presentation and readiness of the yacht. - You should be experienced enough to take sole charge of the yacht when the captain is away
You will be supporting the captain with light engineering, though the emphasis is very much deck/sailing strength
The Ideal Candidate
- AEC 1 & 2
- Yachtmaster Offshore
- Solid sailing yacht experience essential
- Minimum 2+ years in a leadership Mate role, ideally on smaller sailing yachts
- Strong deck skills with good seamanship and situational awareness
- Calm, trustworthy, and able to work independently when required
- Possibly open to a paired candidate (with a Chef/Stew)
- EU Passport or valid Schengen Visa

- Start Date: March 2026 (potentially sooner for the right candidate)
- Salary: €4,500 DOE
