Requirements:
STCW + Refresher
Experience as a 1st mate on 35m+ for 2 years+
ENG1 or current fit for duty marine medical (valid for 6 months)
Passport (minimum 1 year)
VISA: B1/B2 visa
Background check and drug testing may apply.
Responsibilities: Exterior maintenance, watchkeeping, you will act as a co-captain in case of an emergency.
Job Specifics: Solo mate, hands on deck, maintenance. The vessel is for sale and running with skeleton crew - Captain, mate and engineer. The vessel will be sitting in the yard until it gets sold.
Candidates must hold a minimum 200-ton license, as they may be required to safely relocate the yacht from the slip in the captain's absence in the unlikely event of an emergency (e.g., a neighboring vessel fire). So they will need approval by insurance.
Other: This can be a live off or live onboard position.
If you have your own accommodations in the area, you can go home at night some days per week (based on the watches schedule).
Salary range: Within yachting salary guidelines depending on experience. USD. Permanent, full time.
Package: Medical coverage, flights to and from the vessel, paid leave per MI flag., etc. to be finalized during interview process.
Commercial Registered Yacht: No.
