Lead Deckhand – 80m World Cruising Private/Charter Yacht

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Deckhand to join our busy and dynamic 80m private/charter yacht. This is a hands-on role within a high-performance deck team, offering the rare opportunity to step up and act as Bosun for approximately 4 months of the year during leave rotations.
Our program is very active and physically demanding, with an emphasis on guest interaction, water sports, and maintaining a high standard of exterior operation and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the deck team under the guidance of the Bosun and Chief Officer.
- Manage daily deck operations including maintenance, washdowns, detailing, and tender operations.
- Take charge of water sports and guest activities – ensuring safety, setup, and instruction.
- Drive and maintain a range of large tenders.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety, seamanship, and professionalism at all times.
- Step up to Bosun role as required (approx. 4 months per year).
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience on yachts 60m+ in a senior deckhand or lead deckhand capacity. This is a must. Do not apply if you have less than this experience.
- Yachtmaster Offshore or Yacht Rating – essential.
- PWC Instructor – highly desirable.
- Strong tender driving skills (both jet).
- Excellent knowledge of deck maintenance, products, and procedures.
- Confident in water sports operations (tow sports, Seabobs, E-foils, diving/snorkeling setup, beach set up etc.).
- Positive, proactive, and “can-do” attitude with a strong team spirit.
- Physically fit and ready for a demanding, fast-paced environment.
