Overview and Opportunity
An UHNW private household is seeking an experienced Laundress to take full responsibility for the care and presentation of all garments, linens, and fabrics across multiple international residences and during frequent travel.
This is a hands-on position requiring exceptional attention to detail and a deep understanding of luxury fabric care. The Laundress will ensure that every item from delicate silks to fine cottons is cleaned, pressed, and finished to the highest possible standard.
Working closely with the wider household team, the successful candidate will deliver a consistent level of excellence in every location, maintaining the same standards at home and while travelling with the family.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all laundry duties, including washing, stain removal, ironing, pressing, folding, and steaming.
- Handle delicate and luxury fabrics with the appropriate care, techniques, and products.
- Maintain immaculate presentation of clothing, bed linens, and household textiles.
- Prepare and organise garments for travel, ensuring items are ready, pressed, and packed with precision.
- Keep the laundry area and related equipment clean, organised, and well-maintained.
- Undertake minor repairs where required (e.g. buttons, hems).
- Coordinate with housekeepers and other staff to ensure seamless household operations.
- Travel extensively with the family, maintaining the same level of care across all locations.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar laundress role within a private household or luxury environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of laundry care, garment finishing, and fabric handling.
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in delivering flawless results.
- Discreet, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel frequently.
