About the Role:
A prestigious private household is seeking an experienced AV/IT Household Technician to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot all technology and systems within a large, fully staffed residence. The successful candidate will ensure seamless functionality across all audio-visual, IT, networking, security, and smart-home systems, delivering a smooth and discreet service to the Principals and their guests.
This role requires technical expertise, flexibility, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment where discretion and professionalism are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactive maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of household AV/IT systems, including Wi-Fi, servers, networking, and smart-home automation.
- Managing entertainment systems (cinema, music, streaming devices, media servers) and ensuring reliability and ease of use for the Principals.
- Overseeing household security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms) and liaising with security contractors when necessary.
- Providing first-line IT support to the Principals, family members, and staff for devices (phones, tablets, laptops, printers).
- Coordinating with external IT/AV service providers and contractors, ensuring projects and repairs are completed to the highest standard.
- Maintaining inventory of technical equipment and software licences.
- Offering occasional travel support to set up and maintain AV/IT systems at secondary residences or during family travel.
- Remaining available for urgent technical support outside of standard hours when required.
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of AV, IT, and smart-home systems.
- Previous experience working in a private household, luxury property, or superyacht environment highly desirable.
- Hands-on, problem-solving approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and a client-focused mindset.
- Discreet, trustworthy, and able to work independently while also liaising with household staff and contractors.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel when needed.
