About the Position:
As a Cooking Instructor for our culinary program, you’ll have the opportunity to teach aspiring yacht chefs the essential skills they need to thrive in the galley aboard luxury yachts. You will lead immersive, hands-on courses designed to take students through both the art and science of gourmet cooking. The course curriculum will emphasize versatile techniques, produce management, and the best methods for working in the unique, high-demand environment.
Yacht-Specific Training: Teach students how to adapt traditional cooking methods to the constraints of working on yachts, including limited kitchen space, equipment, and handling produce in often remote locations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Professional Cooking Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in professional kitchens, preferably on yachts or in a high-pressure culinary environment.
Extensive Knowledge: Expertise in modern cooking techniques, especially sous-vide, classic sauces, baking (including sourdough), and charcuterie.
Produce Management: In-depth understanding of how to source, manage, and preserve produce onboard.
Teaching Experience: Previous teaching or mentoring experience is a plus, with the ability to communicate complex cooking techniques in an easy-to-understand way.
Yacht or Marine Experience: Familiarity with working in a yacht galley or the marine industry is preferred but not required.
Passion for Teaching: Enthusiasm for helping others develop their skills and a genuine desire to mentor the next generation of yacht chefs.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage course materials, schedule, and student progress effectively.
