Summary

SOUS CHEF POSITION - 200-foot Private yacht that Winters in the Bahamas / Caribbean and Summers in the Mediterranean  

Looking for a mature Sous Chef to be part of our Galley Department. The Sous Chef is a culinary trained professional that must be eager to assist the Head Chef in all aspects of galley duties, taking direction well, in addition to possessing the ability to plan well balanced, thoughtful menus and thoroughly understand galley safety and hygiene. As needed, the Sous Chef may be asked to independently provide crew meals at the direction of the Head Chef. 

The successful candidate for this position will have at least two years of similar experience in a superyacht galley or ashore in a high-end restaurant environment.  

Start Date:    To be Determined, but ideally at the end of September

Qualifications:

·        Valid Passport

·        B1/B2 Visa, and Schengen if applicable

·        STCW/Security Awareness and Refresher if applicable

·        Current Medical Certificate (ENG 1 or US Equivalent)

·        Food handling & Hygiene Certification

·        Candidates must possess excellent people skills

·        Culinary trained (Is a plus)

·        Baking skills, and use of different cooking styles 

·        Great organization, capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing workload

·        Computer Skills, Word, Excel

·        Minimum of two years in yachting, and two years at premier restaurants shoreside

Job Responsibilities: 

·        Provisioning of all food items

·        Guest and crew meals and nutrition

·        Assisting Head Chef when needed

·        Food safety and storage standards

·        Galley and food inventory

·        Galley safety and sanitary standards

Required Skills:

·        Knowledge of produce

·        Some provisioning experiences

·        Knowledge of food safety and storage

·        Knowledge of nutrition, diets and allergies

·        Organized, adaptable and creative

·        Time Management

·        Ability to take direction

·        Ability to overcome seasickness

Other Requirements:

·        Late 20’2 to mid-30’s, mature, serious types, well mannered

·        Physically fit, nonsmokers. No electronic cigarette users 

·        No visible tattoos (Preferably)

·        Confident person, personable and loyal

·        Polite, and respectful to crew, owner and supervisor – Head Chef, Chief Officer, Chief Stewardess and Chief Engineer

·        Longevity with good references

Couples: Only couples with longevity working together, with great references will be considered
