Summary

Job Title: Captain - 72ft Azimut

Location: Miami, Florida

Position Type: Full-Time, Live-Out

Objective:

We are currently seeking an experienced Captain for a private family. Someone with experience and dedication to operate their 72ft Azimut yacht. The yacht is currently in the yard and will be ready for use in the upcoming season. Valuing safety, professionalism, and a personalized approach to yacht management.

Responsibilities:

  • Navigation & Operation: Safely operate the 72ft Azimut, ensuring all voyages are conducted in compliance with maritime laws and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of Florida/North East US/Caribbean Waters: Demonstrate extensive knowledge of these waters, including local navigational hazards, weather patterns, and popular destinations.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Oversee routine maintenance and repairs, coordinating with yard staff to ensure the yacht is in top condition.
  • Guest Experience: Provide exceptional service to the family, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience while onboard.
  • Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures for all guests.
  • Planning & Logistics: Plan itineraries, including routes, fuel stops, and docking arrangements, ensuring a seamless experience for the family.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the family regarding schedules, maintenance, and any concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Licenses: Valid captain's license (minimum 100 GT) and any relevant certifications (STCW, first aid, etc.).
  • Experience: Proven experience as a captain on similar-sized vessels, preferably in the Miami area.
  • Knowledge of Florida Waters: In-depth understanding of the waterways, regulations, and best practices for navigating the Florida coast.
  • Skills: Strong navigational skills, knowledge of marine systems, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Personality: Friendly, customer-oriented, and capable of managing diverse situations with a calm demeanor.
  • Visa B1/B2 if appropriate
