Summary
A prestigious programme is looking for an experienced 1st Engineer with a Chief Engineer Unlimited III/2 Certificate of Competency (preferred but not mandatory) to join their team from mid-October. The position offered is permanent with a structured 2:2 rotation, and the ideal candidate should bring both a strong commercial shipping background and prior yacht experience. Candidates should have proven ability sailing as 1st/2nd Engineer at management level (not as watchkeeper) and be able to demonstrate leadership in managing engineering teams and technical operations. The right candidate will be forward-thinking, possess excellent man-management skills, and actively promote interdepartmental collaboration. An opportunity may exist to step up to Chief Engineer on a temporary basis if required, making this an ideal role for someone with ambition and a Chief Unlimited III/2 ticket. The role will involve responsibility for a 6-man engine room watchkeeping team, with oversight of all maintenance and repairs relating to propulsion, hotel services, and tenders under the supervision of the Chief Engineer.

Job Specification
- Valid STCW ‘10 Certificates
- Valid ENG1 Medical with no restrictions
- Certificate of Competency: Chief Engineer Unlimited III/2 preferred but Second Engineer Unlimited III/2 (management level) considered
- Minimum 1–2 contracts as 1st or 2nd Engineer at management level
- Strong commercial shipping background with yacht crossover experience
- Proven team leadership and man-management skills
- Positive, proactive attitude with good interdepartmental communication
- Non-smoker preferred
- Tattoos allowed but nothing offensive
