1st Engineer

Salary : EUR 8500 to EUR 10000 Per Month

The First Engineer is a key figure in a yacht’s engineering department, responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, this role ensures the vessel operates smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with safety regulations.

First Engineers are hands-on professionals who manage propulsion systems, power generation, air conditioning, hydraulics, and other vital onboard equipment. Their technical expertise ensures that the yacht remains in top working condition, preventing system failures and responding swiftly to any mechanical issues.

Beyond technical responsibilities, the First Engineer also assists in crew management, providing leadership and training to junior engineers. They play a crucial role in maintenance scheduling, ensuring that all necessary servicing is performed efficiently while minimizing operational disruptions. Additionally, they liaise with suppliers and external contractors to source parts and coordinate major repairs.

This dynamic role requires a balance of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and leadership capabilities. Working as a First Engineer provides an opportunity to advance into senior engineering positions while playing a fundamental role in the smooth operation of luxury superyachts.
