Summary
A warm and welcoming family based in Prestbury, Macclesfield, are seeking a reliable and experienced part-time Housekeeper to join them on a long-term basis. The family live in a spacious five-bedroom home with generous entertaining areas, a gym, and a swimming pool. The successful candidate will be responsible for all general and deep cleaning of the property, as well as laundry, ironing, and changing of bed linens.
While no childcare duties are required, the family have two children who are often at home, so the housekeeper must be comfortable working in a busy family environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in households with children and pets, and will be highly attuned to maintaining a safe, calm, and nurturing atmosphere. An up-to-date DBS check is essential. The family also have a friendly dog, so being pet-friendly is important.
The position is offered on a self-employed basis, working three mornings a week — Monday, Wednesday, and Friday — from 9:00am to 1:00pm. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a stable, long-term role within a respectful and friendly household. This is a live-out position so candidates should already be based locally.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
· General daily cleaning of all rooms, including bathrooms, kitchen, living areas, and bedrooms
· Deep cleaning of the home on a regular schedule
· Laundry: washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothes and linens
· Changing bed linens and making beds
· Maintaining a tidy and organised home environment
· Ensuring a safe and clean environment for the family, with awareness of children and pets in the home
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
· Proven experience working as a housekeeper in a private household
· Comfortable working in a home with children and pets
· Fluency in English and eligibility to work in the UK
· Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
· Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
· Trustworthy, reliable, and discreet
· Pet-friendly and comfortable around dogs
· Up-to-date DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
· Excellent checkable references
