The Candidate Specification
We are seeking a confident and highly capable 2nd Officer for a prestigious 95M+ private yacht. The ideal candidate will have held an OOW Unlimited ticket for at least two years, with prior experience on yachts of similar size. This is not a junior officer position, we need someone confident, organised, and independent, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work seamlessly with the bridge team.
Outgoing, ego-free, and a strong communicator, you’ll be comfortable supporting the Chief and 1st Officers in maintaining top navigational standards. You’ll also be hands-on and happy to assist on deck when required, particularly during guest trips. HLO certification is a bonus, and experience with ISM procedures is highly regarded.
As a 2nd Officer your responsibilities include bridge management and watchkeeping, updating and managing charts and publications, assisting with helicopter operations (HLO certificate preferred), supporting Chief and 1st Officer, helping to raise bridge standards and practices, assisting on deck during guest presence and working with Kongsberg systems.
- Required Experience: OOW Unlimited license held for minimum 2 years, previous experience on 70M+ vessels, bridge watchkeeping and management, familiarity with Kongsberg systems and ISM knowledge is a plus
