Skipper
Salary : EUR 4000 to EUR 10000 Per Month
As the on-the-water leader of the vessel, the Skipper plays a vital role in ensuring safe, smooth, and efficient sailing operations. Whether running a private yacht, charter boat, or delivery passage, the Skipper is the go-to authority for everything from navigation to crew coordination and onboard safety. This role is ideal for experienced sailors with a passion for life at sea and the ability to confidently take charge in dynamic maritime environments. Skippers are hands-on professionals, responsible for executing the voyage plan, managing the crew, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with all relevant maritime laws and safety standards.
You’ll chart the course, monitor weather systems, and adapt plans as needed. Skippers must confidently use electronic and manual navigation tools to ensure safe and timely passage.
As Skipper, you’ll lead the crew by example—delegating roles, maintaining morale, and ensuring smooth teamwork onboard. Whether working with seasoned hands or training new crew, strong communication and leadership are key.
Skippers oversee day-to-day vessel operations, ensuring all systems are in working order. You’ll be expected to troubleshoot common issues, coordinate routine maintenance, and keep everything shipshape while underway.
Safety is your top priority. You’ll run drills, enforce safety protocols, and ensure readiness for emergencies, from medical incidents to rough weather. Staying up to date on maritime regulations and best practices is essential.
