The Candidate Specification
We are currently seeking a Lead Service Stewardess to join a 75m+ private motor yacht starting around 1st April. The yacht is based in Monaco and cruises primarily throughout the Mediterranean. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-run vessel with a professional, supportive crew and a positive, team-focused environment on board. We are open to candidates with previous lead service experience or those currently working as a 2nd Stewardess. This position has become available as the current Lead Service Stewardess has recently been promoted to Chief Stewardess, making it a great opportunity for someone looking to progress within a supportive and well-structured interior team.
While the yacht maintains high standards of service, the style is relaxed and natural, focusing on polished food and wine service rather than formal silver service. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing service with confidence while maintaining a warm, approachable presence with the owners and guests.
We are looking for someone who is calm, composed, and confident when interacting with the owners at the table. The role requires a stewardess who is comfortable communicating directly with guests, attentive to detail, and able to read the room. The owner is particular about how he likes his service, so it's important that the candidate is resilient, adaptable, and able to take feedback professionally. Initially, you will shadow the Chief Stewardess to learn the owner's preferences and understand the flow of service on board.
The owner mainly uses the yacht for weekend trips, which creates a program that is generally well balanced for the crew. When the owner is not onboard, the schedule can be lighter and there may occasionally be opportunities to finish earlier depending on the program.
The owner is very fitness-oriented and enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle. Crew members who share an interest in fitness are encouraged to join him in activities when he is onboard and in the area. These can include relaxed runs of up to 10km, always at a comfortable and manageable pace. Babysitting or childcare experience would also be considered a bonus.
The yacht typically spends the winter season based in Palma, although there is a strong possibility the vessel will enter a shipyard period this year. This can be a valuable opportunity for crew to gain experience while working closely with the team during maintenance and operational periods.
The owner also has a number of beautiful private properties around the world, and from time to time crew may assist at these luxury villas and apartments. This adds a unique element to the role and offers the chance to experience different environments while maintaining the same high level of service expected on board.
The position offers 90 days leave per year and a 13th-month bonus, along with the opportunity to gain excellent experience on a large private yacht with a professional and supportive team
