Position Overview
We are seeking a Yacht experienced and motivated First Mate (OOW certified) for a hands-on deck role onboard a well-maintained 40m private motor yacht. This is an active deck position requiring the candidate to work alongside the Bosun and deck hand in all deck duties with lead by example attitude.
The vessel maintains a mini ISM system onboard and uses IDEA for the organisation of all Administrative requirments.
An ideal canditale must be famliar this Microsoft Excel and has the knowledge to take over the Administrative duties with confidence. The position is for an immediated start and is not a couples position.
The Yacht is a non smoking vessel and has a Non Visible Tattoo policy.
Key Responsibilities
Stand navigational watches (OOW compliant)
Assist Captain with passage planning, bridge operations, and safety management
Lead and oversee deck crew in daily operations and maintenance schedules
Hands-on involvement in painting, varnishing, polishing, washdowns, and general upkeep.
Manage tender operations and watersports equipment
Oversee deck inventory, maintenance logs, and planned maintenance systems
Assist with docking, anchoring, and maneuvering operations
Ensure high standards of exterior presentation at all times
Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to junior deck crew
Requirements
Strong yachting background with experience to create a relaxed yet professional atmosphere.
Officer of the Watch (OOW) <3000GT (minimum)
Valid STCW, ENG1, and all relevant certification
Proven yachting experience as Mate or strong Bosun ready to step up on similar-sized vessel
Solid experience with paint systems, surface preparation, and deck maintenance
Strong tender driving skills (powerboat level 2 minimum; advanced preferred)
Good leadership and communication skills with English being your first language.
