Summary

Overview

We are seeking a talented, experienced Sole Chef to join a 47m private motor yacht operating a private/light charter program. This is a fantastic opportunity for a calm, organised and positive professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys being an integral part of a close-knit crew.

The vessel will cruise to Alaska before transitioning to the Caribbean for charter operations in November and December. We are looking for someone who is committed to longevity and excited to grow with a program that values crew wellbeing and team spirit. This yacht has a genuinely positive onboard culture and no drama policy. The crew enjoy spending time together, and strong crew engagement is very important. The owners are kind and truly prioritise crew happiness and longevity. They are seeking a chef who wants to commit to the program long-term and become part of a stable, professional team.

Due to cabin configuration, this position is open to male candidates only.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare high-quality, fresh, and creative meals for:
  • 9 crew daily
  • Up to 12 guests
  • Design diverse menus tailored to guest preferences and dietary requirements
  • Execute fine dining to charter standard (less formal when running private trips) while maintaining approachable, nutritious crew meals
  • Maintain exceptional hygiene and cleanliness standards

As Sole Chef, you will be fully responsible for your own provisioning. This includes:

  • Proactively sourcing the best local suppliers and markets
  • Researching ports in advance to identify top-quality produce and specialty items
  • Managing budgets effectively
  • Planning ahead for remote cruising locations (particularly Alaska)
  • Maintaining accurate inventory and stock control

Strong time management and organisational skills are essential, as you will be balancing provisioning, preparation, service, and galley administration independently. If you are a professional, organised and enthusiastic Sole Chef looking for a rewarding permanent role with a great program and strong team culture, we would love to hear from you. Please apply with your CV, references, and sample menus.
