Chief Officer/1st Mate in Croatia

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chief Mate to join a 50m private motor yacht currently based in Croatia.

This is a permanent position offering stability and the opportunity to work with an excellent crew and Owner.

The Owner leads a very health-conscious and active lifestyle and expects the crew to maintain similar standards - not only prioritising good health, but also being physically fit, active, and committed to regular exercise and training.

We are therefore looking for candidates who embrace and maintain a healthy and physically active lifestyle.

Requirements:

• Minimum OOW 3000GT CoC
• Solid experience as Chief Mate or strong Second stepping up
• Excellent deck management and leadership skills
• Strong knowledge of ISM, safety procedures, and navigation
• Valid STCW, ENG1, and all standard certification
• Valid B1/B2 visa on hands will be a huge plus

• Start Date: ~27 February 2026
• Cruising Areas: Mediterranean / Caribbean

Essential Qualifications

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)
• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)

Master/Skipper Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• MCA CoC Chief Mate <3000gt

Specialised Security Courses

• Proficiency as Ship Security Officer (SSO) (A-VI/5)
