Summary
Burgess Recruitment is looking for a Temporary Captain for a 40m Charter Yacht
Start Date: Mid-May 2026 –Contract until end of September 2026 (approx. 5 months)
Salary: TBC – seasonal package, market aligned
Leave: As per seasonal contract
Qualifications:
• Master 500 GT (or equivalent)
• Valid STCW certification
• Valid ENG1 medical
• Experience on commercially operated yachts
• Strong knowledge of Mediterranean charter operations
Requirements:
• Proven experience as Captain or Chief Officer stepping up on similar-sized yachts
• Mediterranean charter experience essential
• Confident managing charter programmes and guest-facing operations
• Strong organisational skills, particularly marina bookings and itinerary planning
• Experience operating under a commercial flag
• Professional, calm leadership style suitable for charter environments
Other:
• The yacht is currently based in Saudi Arabia and will transit to the Mediterranean mid-May for the charter season, before returning to the Middle East afterwards
• Charters are already confirmed for the season
• Excellent opportunity for a motivated, up-and-coming Captain to gain experience on a reputable charter yacht
