Yacht Operations Manager (Remote)
Full-time Position
Ideally looking for someone based in the U.K.
Overseeing a fleet of private yachts 95m+
Travel: 10 – 15% but will mainly remote
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Yacht Operations Manager to oversee the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of a fleet of yachts. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence both at sea and ashore, acting as a key link between the yacht owner, Captain, crew, and shore-based teams.
The successful candidate will bring strong maritime knowledge, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment. Ideally would have held a senior position such as Captain or Purser on board yachts over 75m and also experience with Family Offices desirable
Key Responsibilities
· Support the Captain with crew recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
· Coordinate crew schedules, leave, and international logistics across charters and operational periods
· Oversee itineraries, port clearances, provisioning, maintenance planning, and day-to-day operations
· Manage operational budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost efficiencies without compromising quality
· Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, flag-state requirements, and insurance obligations
· Conduct safety drills, audits, inspections, and maintain crew certifications
· Act as primary liaison between owners, crew, shore teams, vendors, marinas, and service providers
· Implement and improve operational systems, processes, and reporting to enhance efficiency and communication
· Support the delivery of exceptional guest and charter experiences by coordinating with interior, culinary, and deck teams
· Travel to yachts, ports, and suppliers as required to oversee operations, training, or audits
Requirements
· Strong background in yacht or maritime operations
· Experience working with senior crew and UHNW principals
· Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work flexible hours and travel internationally
· Familiarity with yacht management, compliance, and inventory systems
· Support global operations across multiple time zones and international locations
Skills & Experience
· Strong background in yacht or maritime operations
· Proven experience working with senior crew and UHNW principals
· Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Comfortable working irregular hours, including travel, weekends, and peak charter periods
· Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations
· Familiarity with yacht management software, compliance systems, and inventory tools
