Chief Mate role available onboard a 40m Private Motor Yacht
We are seeking a confident and motivated Mate to join a privately owned 40m MY currently in Italy. This is a single-season Mediterranean program, cruising throughout the Med, with a strong focus on professionalism, longevity, and growth within the program.
This role is ideal for a Mate who is ready to step up and take ownership of their position, with the long-term goal of progressing onto the Owner’s new build vessel (50m+), scheduled for delivery next year. We are looking for someone who is positive, hardworking, and eager to grow with the crew and the Owner’s program.
You will work closely with the Captain, assisting with navigation, deck operations, maintenance, and guest service, while demonstrating leadership, initiative, and a strong work ethic. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build longevity within a stable and forward-thinking program.
Qualifications and requirements:
• all certificates up to date
• Minimum Yachtmaster Certificate in hand (essential)
• Previous experience as a Mate or a Lead Deckhand ready to step up
• Strong seamanship skills with confidence in deck operations and watchkeeping
• Positive attitude, professional mindset, and willingness to work hard
• Looking for longevity and growth within a private program
